STAGE SET UP VOLUNTEER ROLES

Those who wish to help out but not as a marshal can join our set up teams

The roles do not require the Motorsport UK marshal training scheme (however it is advantageous) It will be spread into 3 sections

Road closure teams - Pulling across or removing road barriers, this will be for 1 hour in the morning, 2 hours at lunch and an hour or 2 in the evening (if available) At least 2 teams of 2 people)

Taping teams - Pulling across all the preset tapes over driveways and roads. Again, this is a few hours in the morning, 2/3 hours at lunch and and then an hour or two in the evening (if available) The team will also help with stage take down after the completion of the stages (2 or 4 teams of 2 people)

Setup/take down teams - This will be an all-day role. Helping stage commanders in putting up and adjusting the stages. Making any changes that the Clerk of the Course (COC) or safety delegate ask and also the taking down and packing up of the stages.

All stage marshals also help with stage take down after by packing away their area. (4 teams of 2 people)

MARSHAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure public and competitor safety during the event.
Be the first responders to report or assist in case of an incident.
Help setup crews take down stage equipment after the event.
Assist in controlling spectator areas and keep the public informed as necessary.
Prevent the public from accessing prohibited areas or moving along the stage route during live events.

A professional ability to engage with the public is essential to help us run a successful event.

If you're interested in becoming a marshal you will need to go onto the MSUK website and complete the online training module  https://www.motorsportuk.org/volunteers/marshals/online-marshals-training/

Once you have competed the online course you can then apply to become a Registered Marshal with Motorsport UK. This can be done via the member portal and allows you to volunteer for any type of event to assist the marshalling team
